“Your life works to the degree you keep you agreements.” -Werner Erhard

*Never promise more than you can perform.

*Recognize your word is your bond. Don’t give your word casually and then causally break it.

W-H-E-N you don’t keep your agreements, you pay both external and internal cost – you loss trust, respect and credibility with others (your family, friends, colleagues and customers). You ultimately create mess in your own life and in the lives of those who depend on you for getting things done.

Class Acts teach others how to treat them with esteem. They treat others with thoughtfulness and care, dignity and respect. If you’re always sloppy, late and don’t care how you conduct yourself, you’re going to attract people who treat you in a sloppy, always late and don’t care manner. Who wants that for themselves? I hope not you…Certain  people command a certain level of respect not only because of how they treat others, but more importantly, because of how they treat themselves.

Gossip is providence of small-minded individuals. The biggest cost of gossiping is that it robs you of a clear mind. People who are impeccable see the world more clearly. They think more clearly and thus can be more effective in their decisions and actions.

When you speak ill of another to anyone else, it may temporarily bound you to that other person, but it creates a lasting impression in the other that you are the kind of person who gossips negatively about others. That other person will always be wondering – even if unconsciously – when you will turn that verbal poison against them. It will erode their sense of deep trust in you. Wars have been started over words. People have been killed because of words. Deals have been lost because of words. Marriages have been destroyed because of words.

“Impeccability of the word can led you to personal freedom, to huge success and abundance, it can take away all fear and transform it into joy and love ~ Don Ruiz – The Four Agreements

For most of us our words are spoken without consciousness. We rarely stop to think about what we are saying. our thoughts, opinions, judgments and beliefs roll off our tongues without a care for the damage of the benefits they can produce. Successful people on the other hand are the master of their words. They know that if they don’t take dominion over their words, their words will take dominion over them. They’re conscious of the thoughts they think and the words they speak – both about themselves and others.

H.I.P. Relationship Tip: Self-care isn’t just about you.

Whether you’re a teacher, coach, parent, minister, when you want to help others change it’s oh so tempting to believe that means giving your all, 110% of the time. That is means being on call no matter what – going the extra mile, being invested in the outcome and truth be told sometimes it does.

Short bursts of all out giving as a teacher, coach, minister, especially parent comes with the territory. But if you do it for extended stretches or you believe you must do it to be good or to be worth what you charge, you’re setting yourself up for a big ole train wreck of burnt out and soul sucking resentment.
