Oh boy, did I have a day yesterday. My favorite friend “Self – Talk” was close by the whole way through. There are moments when we are asked to step up and out a little higher and that was the case for me yesterday. With each step I am learning so much more about myself and I am allowing all of me to be okay ( after all this is how I have transformed my life thus far). What I am getting in each moment is that transformation never ends – it is really a knowing that “we are always in a state of becoming” – BOOM

There are those days when your heart sings out with a feeling of elation. It cannot be translated in words, sometimes you want to sing. Like for me I always remembering singing this song in prep school – “my cup is full and running over.” That would best describe the feeling tone.

I have a friend from High School that experiences panic attack to the point of going to the emergency room from time to time. Her panic attacks are induced by fear, what others thing about her etc… really she lives a life where she isn’t stepping on anyone’s toes. At the time when these episodes came about I wasn’t aware of the severity or nature of these episodes. I didn’t grasp the feeling tone or what was talking place with her, all that was beyond my understanding. Now, anything that happened in the group or individually she would be the first to say “I am sorry”…it was her nature, she explained to us on numerous occasions that she was raised to say I am sorry in the home.

Healthy, Inspiring & Purposeful people know that appreciation is the highest form of prayer, for it acknowledges the presence of good wherever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts. As we continue the preparation for feasts and festivities, let us pause to consider the invitation for transformation that the Thanksgiving Holiday offers us.
You may be wondering why I would call this article a Thankful Thanksgiving.Aren’t all Thanksgivings thankful? Unfortunately, no. Since I had experienced more than my share of Thanksgivings, I recognize that being thankful is something that we have to work at, even on Thanksgiving.

The moment one gives close attention to anything even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself – Henry Miller

Allow yourself to feel it. There is a blessing within the process if we allow ourselves to see it. It gives us time to pay attention to the blade of grass or tree branches against the sky and thereby move within and find the joys of Spirit.

Recently I spoke at a sweet sixteen event. The mother contacted me to add a bit of “spiritual essence” to this lavish occasion. As I pondered this moment I contemplated how much the rights of passage traditions are not practiced consistently in the western culture.
I would like share with you the speech I delivered in the hope that you would share this with every young woman and parent you come across in your own circles.

God said, I am made whole by your life. Each soul, each soul completes me. – Hafiz
Sometimes as we move up the ladder of successful living, it becomes more and more important that we be liked and admired. Our ego finds it advantageous to say and do what pleases others at the sacrifice of our own authenticity. We become people pleasers and lets face it, it does seem to have its rewards. If I agree with you and do what you like, I’ve convinced myself that you will love me and accept me. Then I’m home free or so I think.

“Let us live in the eternal presence of God’s happy smile…folded in the arms of Love forever” – Ernest Holmes
Ernest Holmes also said “the journey back (home) should be fraught with happiness and joyful expectation for we shall be met with a smile from the Universe and shall be folded in the arms of love forever.” I know that I am met in each and every moment with the open arms of God welcoming me home and I know I am home wherever I go. No matter how far I wander off from my center. How separate and apart I feel from the love of God I just turn my thoughts back to my heart, the home of God, my heaven in the midst of chaos and I know I am enfolded in Its loving arms.
