Criticizing is easy. Doing something constructive takes courage.
I was watching Super Soul Sunday recently and heard Dr. Brene Brown talk about the concept of being in the ring ( the arena). She explained the courage and tenacity it takes to stand up and have a voice with a face – simply to stand in the ring. Without this she exclaimed “you don’t get a say”.
Here was another ah ah moment for me. Not only do I need to step up my game by getting in the arena for my life but I can also practice to not criticize other people’s arena. Those around you should be free to design and make their own life – to live out their dharma.

It is truly amazing to step back and look at how busy our lives have become.
Sometimes the more I try to clear the plate so to speak is the more things get added on – it like magic (smiling). There is that constant need to be engaged and entertained to keep the caffeine pot brewing for fear that sleep will cause you to miss out on something.
As you probably notice the successful companies of our time are those that are technologically advance. They are getting the attention of consumers in “real-time”. Apps for smart phones are coming on the scene at a rapid pace, all the appliances in our homes are being synced. People are generally becoming more and more anxious about being on the cutting edge and not being left behind.

“Healthy people are grateful for life’s simple treasures. Be H.I.P. Express gratitude to those you treasure.” ~ Coach T
The letter H in the H.I.P. acronym represents healthy. Most people associate the word healthy immediately with food, diet and exercise. However, embedded in the H.I.P. movement is the conscious association of having and maintaining a healthy mind and consciousness so as to drive the physical expression (your body and affairs) in the right gears.
Healthy people consciously choose to practice making higher choices. They make it a practice to live from the calling of their souls and the insights that are given from their internal wisdom. They understand that watering the seeds of consciousness occurs with tools of prayer, meditation, silence, visioning and other methods. They wake up to the truth that living from this place of existence allows them to be a beneficial presence in the world.

“H.I.P. people have release control of being the general manager of the universe. They trust that there’s a divine plan unfolding for the best for everyone. Be H.I.P. Trust that the universe has got your back.” ~ Coach T
We are not responsible for everyone in this world. In fact a lot of times we even have no control over our own lives. I believe that there is something much greater ruling this world, something that cannot be described in words and cannot be fully understood. Some call it God, the universe, life.
We do not have to take on everything that is going on in the world as our responsibility to fix. Things happen to us and to those that we love and care about, but still we do not have to make it our business to attempt to fix everything that happens. Some things we cannot fix, we are simply going to experience them – both good and bad. Taking it upon ourselves to carry all of the weight for everyone we care about is not healthy. We cannot carry the burdens of other people and we cannot fix them either.

“Purposeful people practice gratitude. Gratitude is the key to giving & receiving abundance. Be H.I.P. Choose to evolve & be grateful.” ~ Coach T
There are some morning when gratitude is not on your mind. Whether it stems from the happenings of the night before, perhaps the dream landscape or even just the way in which you wake up. It’s simply just not there as your first thought. This is the moment when you automatically move into habit. One such habit for me is – reach for my glass or bottle of water that I placed on the nightstand before going to bed, opening the cap, taking a drink and quietly saying “Thank You Spirit”.
There are no other words at this point. Just a thank you as recognition that my eyes opened up this morning. I begin to feel the sensation of my body and become aware of the movements (perhaps ask what day it is – to myself of course). This particular morning I am feeling a sensation of hopelessness, a tinge of desperation, a rush of I must figure things out. Ego rears its head with an onslaught of questions that is saying “lay in bed a little longer than usual – you know you don’t feel like doing anything today.”

“Healthy, Inspiring, Purposeful people let their life be a mission, not an intermission, they know that they are here for a purpose and on purpose. Be H.I.P. Trust and discover your mission, then say yes to it and no to everything else.” ~ Coach T
I recently heard this song by Karen Drucker: I’ve spent my life with a disease to please, I say yes, when I really meant to. But now I’ve seen the light and I feel the time has come for me to say, there is something I need to know: “No is my new yes.
When I say no I’m saying yes to me. When I say no, I set myself free. I’ve been living my life, living to please, full of effort and struggle and not enough ease. I’ve been a such a good boy, but now I know when I’m untrue to me, I lose a piece of my soul. No is my new yes. I thought to be nice. I had to be nice doing what others wanted, but I am paying the price.

“Healthy people know that you can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep reading the last one. Be H.I.P. Prepare now to turn the next page.” ~ Coach T
Sometimes you have to just put both feet on the ground firmly and keeping moving forward. The same old repeated pattern of thoughts, reactions, behavior, attitudes and choices will only get you the same. It is absolutely impossible to keep going through the same door to the bedroom and thinking you’re heading into the kitchen. Clue: INSANITY
It is insane to keep taking the flight to Houston while you’re trying to head to New York. The good news is that there is support all around you to help wake you up from the nightmare. Yes! beyond the surrounding or appearances right now there is help…. Your life is before you and in this now moment here is your ticket to waking up… Ready? Turn the page!

“H.I.P. people know that trust is relationship and relationship is trust. No relationship, no trust. Trust is the glue that holds relationships together and allow it to evolve. Be H.I.P. Cultivate trust in your relationships.” ~ Coach T
Trust is the essential precondition upon which all successful relationships depends, upon which all real success in life depends. Without it nothing can be built or maintained. Yet, increasingly we find ourselves in a world where our methods to address distrust are insufficient.
As with most subject matters of the heart there are levels and levels upon which trust can be addressed. I am going to share two that may appear simple but are powerful if practiced consistently. They are in no particular order.

“Purposeful people know that the time will never be just right. Be H.I.P. Don’t wait for the right time. NOW is the right and the only time.” ~ Coach T
Confession time, here I am preparing to blog this wonderful message to you all and my eyes caught hold of the calendar and a moment of panic / realization kicks in. Yikes! the year is almost ending and there is a slew of items that has to be prepared. Whoa, what have I or we accomplished all year.
Breathe…. and I am back to this moment, the only moment. How many times have you been jolted by the concept of time and the list of to do? We have all been zapped into this concept that 24 hours is no longer enough. Technology and the fast demand of our attention really doesn’t support our energies either. Everything appears to be moving constantly. Sometimes I even get caught in the guilty measure of spending times with friends, whether in person or on the phone, and yet my attention is split to cooking or computer.
